At first, I only could see the top of his head. But I knew that if I waited longer, he would eventually feel my presence, raise his head, and look at me. At that very moment, I would take the shoot.
So I quickly set up, ready to press the shutter release the moment he looked at me. But he never looked at me. The minutes went by and I started to feel the pain on my leg muscles since I was on the tip of my toes in order to raise the camera enough to see him. Still, he didn’t look at me.
At some point, I decided to intervene, so I yelled “hello” in Chinese. He suddenly raised his head and looked outside. That’s when I pressed the shutter release.
